This page is dedicated to and the information that’s been compiled for changing Professional Learning on my campus. Throughout this page you’ll see a wide variety of information regarding my innovation plan, BHAG, 3 Column table, and my Professional Outline which ties in all those elements and how I will impact change to the professional learning on my campus for my teachers and administrators.

PL Outline here you can find a full outline of my PL plan while taking a look at the image to the right.

The PL outline definitely takes time to ensure that you have all items, resources, goals, and ideas in mind. It is still a work in progress and can be updated if need be.

3 Column Table You can take a look that my 3 Column table, and see the overall planning of implementing my innovation plan.

BHAG The Big Hairy Audacious Goal can be seen with the 3 Column table. This is the big goal that I have when it comes to implementing my innovation plan.

This is the video I created to promote my new Professional Learning model simply because the old model of “sit and get” just doesn’t cut it these days. My audience is my teachers on my campus with an emphasis in helping our young learners to prepare them for the future.

This is crucial and if I want to implement change. A variety of tools, resources, planning and research is going into this. So I’m hoping that they will see the importance of my “Go and Show” video and want to start making those changes.

The video focuses on the five key principals of PL:

  1. The duration of the learning must be ongoing
  2. There must be teacher support
  3. Should be engaging and active
  4. Ideas should be modeled
  5. Should be specific to the user

These five steps are needed in ensuring that true learning and development are taking place. Rather then your traditional model, the “Go and Show” puts the ownership on the learner and gives them a wide variety of support, tools, and allows for an authentic learning experience.

As show above in the gallery, the learners must be interacting with one another and having an active experience in order for the learning to happen. Therefore, our young learners should get the same experience if we expect them to learn as well.

We were being taught how to properly “floss” in the PL and were given an opportunity to display our dance moves. Then we were given feedback on how to improve using a variety of resources, then come back and use the resources. In the other photos, students are interacting with a theater group to experience Shakespeare.

Therefore in my innovation plan, I have to ensure that I give my learners an authentic learning experience where they create their own ePortfolios using the tools that I provide and the ongoing support. I would also have to show them the work I’ve done with my ePortfolio and all the research that I’ve accumulated while learning so much.

Here is a look at why an ePortfolio is beneficial

As you can see, there is a lot of work that has gone into planning and preparing for change in Professional Learning and is something that is needed. The old model of “sit and get” and a “one size fits all” approach doesn’t cut it. With the research, and plan put into place, it is time to start making learning more collaborative and fun for all.
